A common questions I get asked during Mailchimp classes is how to add a Mailchimp signup form to Facebook. Many organisations are active on Facebook and it makes sense to get as many of their Facebook visitors to subscribe to their email marketing as possible.
Fortunately it is relatively simple to add a Mailchimp signup for to your Facebook presence. Below are a few of the more common ways that people add Mailchimp forms to Facebook.
All the options below include the following benefits:
- The forms may be styled to your corporate needs.
- The submitter doesn’t leave your Facebook page to subscribe (the form is embedded in Facebook).
- Submitted forms are added directly to your chosen Mailchimp list (i.e. no exporting and importing necessary).
Mailchimp embedded Facebook Form
Mailchimp provide forms which may be embedded wherever HTML is allowed. The signup form may be styled in Mailchimp (e.g. add your logo and corporate colours) and then added to Facebook. The advantage of the Mailchimp provided form is that it is included with your Mailchimp plan (even the free Mailchimp subscriptions) and is very simple to style. A further advantage is that there are less steps required to add the form to Facebook than the other options listed.
Jotform for Mailchimp sign-up in Facebook
Using Jotforms to add a Mailchimp signup form to your Facebook page takes a few more steps than the above Mailchimp forms option. The advantage however is that you can create forms for all your website and other needs and house them in one place; Jotforms. Jotforms has a free but limited option and so if you have few sign-ups each month you may be eligible for the free plan.
Wufoo for Mailchimp sign-up in Facebook
Adding a Wufoo form to Facebook is similar to Jotform. The advantages and disadvantages of using Wufoo for your Mailchimp Facebook sign-up form are similar to those for Jotform. Per Jotform, Wufoo also have a limited free plan.
Selecting which form provider you use for your Facbook hosted MaiLChimp signup form depends on your needs. For its ease of use I prefer the Mailchimp provided option.
