On one of my Windows 10 PCs I just couldn’t get the new version of 1Password to recognise either my old or new password. I could login to 1Password online but the Microsoft Windows version and Google Chrome extension of 1Password wouldn’t let me login.
How to fix 1Password on Windows
I searched for an answer but eventually contacted 1Password support. Below is an amended response I received from 1Password (I’ve added a few additional details that worked to get 1Password to recognise my password.
- Open Windows File Explorer and enter the following in the address bar: LOCALAPPDATA%\1Password
- Rename data folder to backup-data
- Uninstall 1Password.
- Install 1Password.
- Open 1Password and sign in to your account.
I hope the instructions above help you sign-in to 1Password.
