If you use Telstra for your mobile phone, you dial 101 to collect voicemail messages. This same number (101) allows you to record new greetings and change other settings. What it doesn’t explain however is how to enable people to leave messages that will be delivered to you via SMS. Telstra call the message to txt service Message2txt.
Below are the instructions to disable the ability for people to leave voicemail messages and instead allow people to leave a 10 second message that will be delivered to you via SMS.
- On your mobile phone, dial ##002# (you are not actually making a call, just sending an instruction to Telstra).
- Wait for a confirmation.
- Dial ##004#
- Wait for confirmation.
You have now enabled the Telstra Message2txt service.
