The reason that this problem occurs is that your calendar timezone setting may be incorrect. Follow the instructions below to fix this issue:
- In a web browser open your Google Calendar.
- Click the Settings icon to the top right of the screen.
- Click Settings in the drop-down menu.
- Change Country and Your current time zone to your details.
- Click Save.
That’s all there is to it. Your shared calendar entries will now display the date and time of events correctly.
Thanks!
I live in an area of Canada where we don’t change our time. With the time change everyone just had, my Chrome history and my gmail refuse to change as per above. I had this happen last year as well and tried everything.
How about when you fly and different flights originate in different time zones. Expedia’s email gives the correct flight time for departures, but Google will always get only the flights in one time zone correct, for the other flights they give you the flight time not at the airport but in a different time zone.
So I book a flight from New Orleans to Krakow, the first flight departs New Orleans at 11:45pm New Orleans time the second flight departs Frankfurt at 9:55pm Frankfirt time. That’s what Expedia emails me. But Google changes either the 11:45pm or the 9:55 flight time, depending on what time zone you enter. This problem has been raised for years. I guess Google has reached that stage Microsoft entered, still successful but no longer capable of fixing itself, floating on monopoly power? I hope not.
Thanks bud, you totally fixed my issue.
Thanks!
Changing time zones doesn’t help when you fly from one time zone to another, always either flight departure or arrival time in one time zone will be expressed in Google calendar as the time in the other time zone. The frustrating thing is that the airline/expedia email communicates the correct depart and arrival times in each time zone, and Google then CHANGES the correct time to another time in another time zone. That is shameful and has been complained about for years.
Did not help. I send calendar invites to my husband and in the received invite the times are totally wrong.
Same, I adjusted the time correctly in settings however calendar events that are sent out have incorrect times. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! Please fix this issue or post how to fix it, the above post is NOT WORKING.
This does not work. I have saved the time zone in settings and also update it every time before I send out a calendar invite. The calendar still invites them to the wrong time approx 75% of the time.
Not sure if this is relevant, but when I add an appointment in Google Calendar, I can click Time zone next to the start and end date and time, and then select separate start and end time zones.
My google calendar displays the wrong date, ie 31 instead of 17th. How do I change to display correct day.
Didn’t work for me?
I checked my time zones, and they appear correct, but when I save google event invitations in my email, which also appear to be in the correct time zone, they save in another. Then, when I correct the time zone, the event times moves with it and I have to correct it back again.
me too really annoying – does anyone have any other ideas how to fix this. I use Booksteam and as soon as the diary syncs with my Google or Easy Calendar I have same problem the times are two hours out of sync.
I moved – a YEAR AGO – and updated my primary time zone then. Every time I set an appointment in my calendar, it shows as an hour later than it should be. I’ve “fixed” the issue multiple times (nothing to fix, but tried anyway) – using the above. I even got a new phone since then but it’s the Google calendar! Please.
I have a little bit of a different scenario. I have added my daughter’s school calendar into my “other calendars” all the school events show up 4 hours early. I checked the settings and they are correct and I’ve changed them anyway to “reset” and it still happens. All the other calendars I share are correct. Help.
still having an issue with it
Same problem! I use Acuity appointment booking for my business via G suite because it is supposed to work great with Google calendars. However, when a client makes an appointment it shows on my google calendar 2 hours early! Such a PROBLEM!!!
My time zone is set to GMT+00:00 (UK time) and I have booked an appointment on a UK web site (.co.uk) and yet it appears on my calendar 4 hours previous to it’s start time??!!!
this doesn’t work. no matter what I put in time zone, 8 am appointments are always displayed as midnight, etc.
Wow! Worked! Many thanks!
Hi. I tried to do as you suggested but didnt find a means to change COUNTRY & TIME … I try to set my appointment for let’s say 2PM then it gets changed to 5PM. Frustrating!
My calendar’s events are correct, but the little circle with a bar extending out of it on the left, which shows what time it currently is, is an hour off ever since daylight savings. Any help with this issue? It’s only like this on my laptop PC, not on Android.
